NURS 161 Clinical Practicum III

Provides opportunity for the students to provide care for clients with physiological and psychosocial integrity in a variety of settings. Experience involves direct client care, nursing procedures, and administration of medication to diverse populations of clients. Focus is on safe nursing practices, standards and scope of practice, therapeutic communication, documentation and patient education. Students are expected to demonstrate progressively increasing competence, confidence and independent practice in meeting the course objectives from week one of quarter 3 clinical practicum (NURS 149/151) to the final clinical week of quarter 4 (NURS 161/163).
