Honors
Green Honor Cord (Honors Recognition):
If you're graduating with a degree or certificate and have a college-level GPA of 3.75 or higher, you may be eligible to wear a green honor cord at the annual graduation ceremony. This cord recognizes students who have earned the honors designation for their academic achievement. The honors distinction will appear on your final academic transcript.
Notification:
If you qualify for the honor cord, you will get an email by the end of May at the preferred email address listed in your ctcLink student account.
Honor Cord Eligibility:
- Spring graduates: your GPA from winter quarter will be used to determine eligibility.
- Fall or Winter graduates: your final GPA will be used to determine eligibility.
- Upcoming Summer or Fall graduates: you are not eligible for this year. Eligibility will be reviewed for the next year's graduation.
Important:
Graduation honors is different from the President's and Vice President's Lists based on quarterly grades.
Other Distinctions
Students who receive a quarterly grade point average (GPA) of 3.75-4.0 are eligible for one of the following lists of distinction:
- President’s List: granted to students with a minimum quarterly enrollment of 12 college-level credits in courses receiving grades other than “V,” “W,” “N,” or “I” and a minimum quarterly grade point average of 4.0.
- Vice President’s List: granted to students with a minimum quarterly enrollment of 12 college-level credits in courses receiving grades other than “V,” “W,” “N,” or “I” and a minimum quarterly grade point average of 3.75-3.99.
Academic Honor Societies
Phi Theta Kappa is the largest honor society in American higher education. Clover Park Technical College’s Beta Omicron Gamma chapter is one of 1,200 chapters. Phi Theta Kappa’s focus is on scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship. Students with a 3.50 GPA are eligible to join Phi Theta Kappa. A one-time induction fee is required.
