MET 115 Computer-Aided Design for Manufacturing
This course develops foundational competencies in digital product design and manufacturing documentation using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and digital work environments. Students create fully parametric models capable of rapid modification, apply both top-down and bottom-up design strategies to build complex assemblies, and implement Design for Manufacturing (DFM) optimizations to ensure production feasibility. By the end of the course, students will demonstrate digital fluency across multiple engineering and administrative platforms and compile a professional portfolio that showcases their design capabilities and documentation practices.
