MET 116 Manufacturing Systems Fundamentals
This course introduces students to the structure and behavior of complex manufacturing systems through a systems-thinking approach. Learners explore how interconnected processes, systems, modules, and components function within a production workflow. Through hands-on interaction with manufacturing technologies, students understand how machines perform under varying operating conditions and analyze how individual variables contribute to the overall performance of systems. Emphasis is placed on developing diagnostic reasoning to troubleshoot component-level performance and on practicing effective communication within production environments. Upon completion, students will possess foundational fluency required to understand, navigate, and contribute to modern manufacturing operations.
