Placement Measures
Placement Measures
Students entering technical programs that have academic courses may be required to take the directed self-placement survey online. The English and Math placement surveys are meant to gauge where a prospective student's academic skills are. Many of the Clover Park Technical College programs require basic Reading, Writing and Math skills. Each survey will list a set of questions and ask what the students comfortability is with the subject. This is not an assessment but just a tool to measure prospective students' knowledge base. To begin the English and Math Direct Self-Placement surveys, please follow the links below.

Upon completion of the English and Math Direct Self placement surveys, please return to the Welcome Center and meet with an Entry Coordinator to discuss your results. If a placement assessment has been taken within the past 24 months at another college or special agency, the assessment results can be evaluated by an Entry Coordinator in the Welcome Center and posted to the student record as well. There is no fee for the English and Math Direct Self-Placement surveys.
The Welcome Center is available for walk-ins Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00am-4:00pm and most Wednesdays from 10:00am-6:00pm. We are currently closed to the public on Fridays.
You can also schedule an appointment to meet with an Entry Coordinator to discuss survey results and your official academic plan. Our appointment hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:30am-10:00am. Please follow the link below to book and appointment with an Entry Coordinator. https://www.cptc.edu/admissions#profiles
