How to Apply to CPTC

Step 1

Apply for Admissions: 

Complete Your Application: Submit your application online at https://apply.ctc.edu/user. After processing, our Enrollment Services office will email confirmation, and you’ll receive your CTCLink ID#.

Activate Your CTCLink Student Account: Once you have received your CTCLink ID, please visit https://www.cptc.edu/about/ctclink/students to activate your account. Allow at least one day for processing before activation.

Meet with an Entry Coordinator: After your account is activated, visit the Welcome Center to explore your enrollment options, review program maps, and address any initial questions or requirements. Be sure to bring placement documents (transcripts, placement survey or test scores) and a photo ID.

The Welcome Center is open for walk-ins Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 10:00am-4:00pm and Wednesdays from 10:00am-6:00pm. We are currently closed to the public on Fridays.

Step 2

Consider your Funding Options:

If you require financial assistance to cover the costs of your college tuition or supplies, please consider applying for the suggested resources below. 

FAFSA/WASFA: Apply for federal or state aid at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa using School Code: 015984. (Tax information will be needed).

Connect with Student Aid and Scholarships Office: Visit Building 17 or email finaid@cptc.edu for forms and processing information. Call (253-589-5660) or check https://www.cptc.edu/financial-aid.

Workforce Development: Workforce Development offers specialized funding based on financial circumstances. Check eligibility at https://www.cptc.edu/workforce-development or call (253) 589-4311.

VA Funding: If you are a Veteran looking to use VA education benefits, please visit our Veterans office to discuss the process. You can also apply for your benefits at https://www.ebenefits.va.gov/ebenefits/homepage to apply for G.I. Bill™, and connect with the VA office in Building 17, Rm 103. Call (253-589-5581).

Tuition Installment Plan (TIP): If you are interested in setting up a payment plan, please connect with our Tuition Installment Plan (TIP) office in Building 17, Rm 141 (253-589-5651), at the Cashier Window in Building 17 Lobby, or through your CTCLink account online.

Third-Party Funding: If your employer is paying your tuition, contact agencyfunding@cptc.edu or call (253) 589-5663 for information.


Step 3

Placement Measures:

Obtain Transcripts or Test Scores: Send transcripts or test scores (e.g., GED, SAT, ACT) to evaluator@cptc.edu for evaluation.

Direct Self Placement: If you don’t have transcripts or test scores, complete the Math Direct Self Placement at https://forms.office.com/r/YeXzqnTYmx

and the English Direct Self Placement at https://forms.office.com/r/j7zdnWKP7b.

Entry Coordinators will review your transcripts for transferability and your test scores/survey results for placement during your final visit (see step 4). 


Step 4

Meet with an Entry Coordinator:

Contact the Welcome Center to finalize your enrollment, obtain program map, and resolve any enrollment blocks. Remember to bring placement documents (transcripts, survey results or test scores) and a photo ID.

Upon completion of your final visit with an Entry Coordinator, you will be given an official Program Map or academic plan, and your account will be all set up to register for classes. 

After registering for classes, your last step before classes start is attending the New Student Orientation. Please follow the link below for more information. https://www.cptc.edu/student-life/orientation
